A General Contractor is an organization that contracts with another organization for the construction of a project.  The General Contractor provides a lump sum price for the construction of the project, as detailed in the documents provided by the Owner and its Consultants.  A tremendous amount of responsibility is entrusted to the General Contractor.  There is a strong interdependent relationship amongst the Owner, the General Contractor, Design Team and the Trade Contractors.  Goodwill, mutual respect and confidence are critical to the process.
