Carling Square is a landmark office complex located on the north side of Carling Avenue, between Bronson Avenue and Preston Street. Tower One, a six storey building (56,874 sf), was built in 1973. Tower Two, a ten storey building (93,431 sf), was built in 1974. A single storey link at grade between the two buildings was completed in 1995. Parking is provided at grade, in an underground parking garage and at two nearby parking lots. A comprehensive renovation program began at Carling Square in November 2006. This program encompassed all major building components. These include a complete upgrading of the mechanical and electrical systems and the installation of new ground floor glazing, ceiling grid, ceiling tiles, elevator machinery, washrooms, and barrier-free washrooms. Sequential fit-up construction, for PWGSC, began in the fall of 2007. This process allowed for staggered tenant occupancy with full occupancy completed April 2008. Both office towers include the standard open/closed office spaces, administrative service areas, boardrooms and kitchenettes. The link between the towers was designed and equipped to serve as the commissionaire security station. This project was completed on schedule and within budget.
